Commencement Exercises Schedule
The ceremony is open to all Ross School April 2010 and August 20010 Bachelor's,
Master's and Doctoral degree graduates and candidates, also any December 2009
graduates who did not participate in the April 2009 ceremony. Tickets
are NOT required.
Date: Friday, April 30, 2010
Location: Crisler Arena
Timing of Ceremony
4:00 p.m. Graduates and candidates arrive for assembly
4:45 p.m. All guests to be seated
4:50 p.m. Processional begins
5:00 p.m. Commencement ceremony officially begins
7:15 p.m. Approximate end time*
* Please note this is an approximate end time. It is dependent upon the number
of graduates participating in the ceremony. We recommend that you allow some
leeway for a potentially later finish and adequate time to get out of Crisler
if making dinner reservation plans for that evening.

Graduating Students
- Ushers will be available to assist graduates into Crisler Arena and in locating
the proper seating area.
- Graduates and candidates will be able to access the stage for recognition
during the ceremony via a ramp.

Disability Access
The University of Michigan want to ensure that all graduates, candidates, and
guests participate fully in this program. On commencement day, staff is
available to direct and assist people with disabilities into Crisler Arena.
Accessible restrooms are located near the concourse level entrances. Graduates
or guests who have questions about parking, access, or special needs may
contact events@umich.edu.
Etiquette
- All graduates are required to stay for the entire ceremony (about 2 - 2-1/2
hours) which concludes with a Faculty recessional.
- Platform party guests will leave before graduates. Please wait for the appropriate
cue from the ushers to leave.
- Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in Crisler Arena. Anyone found with alcoholic
beverages will be escorted out of the facility.
- Smoking is prohibited in Crisler Arena.
- For your safety and for the consideration of others, only graduates are
permitted on the arena floor prior to and during the ceremony.

Parking
Parking is available at the following locations:
- Sections of Crisler Arena.
- The Pioneer High School lot on the southwest corner of Stadium Boulevard
and Main Street.
- The lot at the corner of Hoover and Greene Street.
- The lot between Keech and Hoover streets.
Please allow plenty of time for parking. Over 6,000 graduates and guests attend
the ceremony.

Photography
- Professional photos will be taken of each graduate as he or she shakes hands
with Dean Dolan on stage, and again as each graduate exits the stage.
- You are not obligated to purchase any of these photos.
- Taking photos at the stage by friends or family during the ceremony is not
permitted.
