The University of Michigan's Ross Energy Club presents the fourth annual Renewable Energy Case Competition (RECC). The RECC is a traditional style case competition that will take place at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business on Thursday and Friday, January 31st and February 1st, 2013. Sixteen MBA teams from the nation’s top business schools will compete to solve one of the many significant challenges facing the renewable energy industry today. The case was written by the RECC committee in partnership with SunEdison. A sound understanding of finance, business strategy, and the energy industry will be required to effectively analyze the case and devise a successful solution.

The Asia Business Conference is the pioneer conference about Asia at the Ross School of Business whilst also being the longest-running student-organized business conference about Asia in North America. This year’s 23nd annual Asia Business Conference will be held on February 1st and 2nd, 2013
To kick off the conference, G. Mustafa Mohatarem, Ph.D., will deliver a keynote at 5:00PM He was named chief economist of General Motors Corporation on March 1, 1995.
GM’s Economics Team is responsible for assessing the impact of worldwide economic developments on the company. The Team’s primary responsibility is to forecast economic growth and vehicle sales in countries around the world. In addition, the Economics Team provides advice to the company on various competitive and economic policy issues. Mohatarem serves on the Corporate Risk Management Committee.
Mohatarem is an expert on trade issues and heads the company’s Trade Team. Mohatarem has also served as visiting assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame. While at GM, he has taught courses as an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Michigan and the University of Detroit.

For the last 22 years, the Asia Business Conference has brought leaders of Asia and multinational companies together in Ann Arbor to discuss, debate, and dialogue about trends in the region. This year’s conference will again provide students and local professionals with a unique glimpse into the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Asia.

Suzanne Nora Johnson will speak on Our Business Imperative: Making Democratic Capitalism Work. She is a board member of Intuit, Visa, AIG, and Brookings Institute. She earned her BA degree from USC, and her law degree from Harvard.
