Announcements

New Chairman!    Dr. Hans-Martin Schneeberger, CEO of Schneeberger Holding Group has gladly accepted to become our new Chairman.  He started his academic Engineering education in Switzerland, which he later completed with an MBA and a Ph.D. at Purdue University in Lafayette, USA.  His first position was a Professorship at the University of Michigan Business School, where he was teaching MBA & BBA courses in Operations Management.  He then worked for a European Management Consulting firm and in 1988, he joined Schneeberger, the leading engineering and manufacturing company in linear motion technology, with offices and staff in all major industrialized markets around the world.  In 1997, he bought the family business in Roggwil and today acts as Chief Executive Officer and President.

April/May 2003    Come and see James Schiro, Chief Executive Officer Zurich Financial Services Group (previously Chief Executive Officer of PricewaterhouseCoopers) speak about "Corporate Goverance-a Transatlantic Perspective". More details to follow!

June 2, 2003 - Switzerland Alumni Hosts Dr. Gunter Dufey and Dr. Priscilla Rogers
On June 2, 2003, The Switzerland Alumni Club hosted Dr. Gunter Dufey (Professor Emeritus of Corporate Strategy and International Business and Professor Emeritus of Finance) and Dr. Priscilla Rogers (Associate Professor of Business Communication).  Dr. Dufey and Dr. Rogers presented the topic "Asian Financial Markets: The Role of Corporate Governance" at the 6th Annual Michigan Workshop and dinner.

March 21, 2002 - Switzerland Alumni Club Hosts Dr. Hans-Martin Schneeberger
On March 21, 2002, The Switzerland Alumni Club hosted Dr. Hans-Martin Schneeberger (Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan and CEO of Schneeberger Group).  Mr. Schneeberger presented the topic "Global Opportunities For Technology KMU's", which provided interested insights on how to successfully manage a leading technology company on a global scale under heaver pressure of large multinational players.  The speech was complemented by a wine tasting dinner at the historic wine cellar, Restaurant Carlton in heart of Zurich.

July 1998 - Switzerland Alumni Club Founding
Alumni, friends, and spouses gather at the founding of the UMBS alumni Club of Switzerland in July 1998. Alumni included Anton Hoefer, MBA '95; Rudolf Kuhn, MBA '84; Alex Albani, MBA '99; Professor Gunter Dufey; Alain Held, Mba '99; Beat Geissler, MBA '95; and Roger Reise, MBA '95.
