QUESTIONS
Q: If I don't get accepted to UpClose does that mean that I
won't get into Ross?
A: Your application to UpClose will in no way, positively or
negatively, impact your actual admissions application to the MBA
program. Admission to UpClose in no way reflects a candidate's
potential for full-time MBA admission, nor is the weekend a
prescreening process for full-time selection. We encourage all
candidates to not only apply to the weekend, but to apply for
full-time admission whether or not they are invited to the weekend.
Q: Where will I stay during UpClose?
A: As our guest for UpClose, we will provide hotel accommodations
for you for the nights of September 29 and 30. We will provide bus
service between the hotel and Ross for UpClose events on Friday and
Saturday.
Official UpClose programming ends on Saturday afternoon. If you'd like to stay in Ann Arbor for an extra evening, hotel
rooms have been secured for Saturday night as well, and you may stay
in your assigned room at your own cost. For your convenience,
you will be paired with a fellow UpClose participant of the same
gender who plans to leave on the same date.

Q: Where is the Ross School of
Business located?
A: The main entrance to Ross is
located at 701 Tappan Street in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Once
you arrive in the main lobby, please follow the signs for
registration.
Q: How do I get to the University of Michigan
from the airport?
A: If you are flying, please book your tickets to Detroit
International Airport (DTW). Detroit is a Delta Airlines hub,
but is also serviced by most major airlines. The airport is a
30 minute drive from the University of Michigan campus. Taxis from
the airport to Ann Arbor typically cost ~$50-$60. The

Flyer rates run slightly cheaper.
Q: Should I consider renting a car for the weekend?
A: For your convenience, we will provide bus service between the
hotel and Ross for UpClose events on Friday and Saturday. Should you
choose to rent a car, parking is available.

Q: How do I find my way around Ross?
A: Maps will be provided when you check in at the registration
table and signs will be posted at all events.
Q: What is the dress code for UpClose?
A: Most
prospective students wear casual clothing for UpClose. Formal
attire is not required for any event. Weather in Ann Arbor can
be crisp in late-October, so please come prepared for chilly
temperatures (layers are a great idea). Your best bet is to
check the weather before you leave for Ann Arbor and pack
accordingly.
Q: How much money should I bring for the weekend?
A: Please bring enough money to cover airport transportation and
dinner on Saturday evening (should you choose to stay an extra
night). All other costs are on us!
Q:
Will I be able to get tickets for the football game on Saturday?
A: A
block of tickets (at no cost) for the Michigan vs. Minnesota
football game have been secured for any participants who wish to
attend. The time is usually not determined until the week
prior. The game could start as late as 3:30 p.m. so plan your
weekend accordingly.
