Careers

The Ross School and the University of Michigan deliver the education, the experience, and the network to help you excel after graduation.

More than 180 companies travel to Ann Arbor each year to recruit our students. Those and many other firms post job openings on iMpact, the school’s online job matching and networking system. Recruiters ranked Ross No. 1 in general business and finance in a 2010 poll published by the Wall Street Journal.

More than 40,000 Ross graduates span the globe, in such firms as JPMorgan Chase, Deloitte, and Amazon.com, to name just a few. It won't be long before you join them: 91 percent of BBAs in the Class of 2012 received a job offer within three months of graduation at a median starting salary of $64,398.

Student interests are varied, and Ross Career Services works to ensure a large and diverse set of opportunities for students. Career Consultants – both staff and student peers – educate BBA students via seminars, online training, and one-on-one appointments to help prepare students to be effective in their job searches.

Starting in your sophomore year, you may work with the Career Services staff on your desired career goal. Specific tools, timelines, online resources, and personal counseling prepare you to pursue the job that best fits your skills and ambition.

The Ross BBA equips creative go-getters to pursue a diverse array of careers. More than a quarter of graduates pursued jobs in consulting, and 14 percent entered marketing. When all of the different types of finance jobs are combined, about 42 percent of BBA graduates pursued careers in this sector. Over ten percent pursued other interests, including entertainment, healthcare, and graduate school.

Over 90 percent of BBAs in the Class of 2012 received their first job offer within three months of graduation. The median salary was $65,000 with a median bonus of $7,500.
