The Fast Track entails a rigorous development program spanning classroom and extracurricular opportunities for those keenly interested in investment banking, financial consulting, private equity, and corporate finance.

Our faculty conduct cutting-edge research and publish in and hold editorial positions with the most highly-regarded academic journals in the field.

The Curriculum
The Fast Track is called the Fast Track for a reason: To provide you the most competitive preparation for the demanding field of finance and investment banking, the curriculum offers an analytically rigorous set of courses and experiences that launch immediately upon your matriculation to Ross. Your engagement begins with summer pre-reading, and at the start of the fall semester, you will enroll in an extended course, Advanced Financial Analysis and Valuation. The course will span the core concepts of finance and valuation in a case-based method, and take a very fast pace.
During the Fall B semester, you will be able to take a course on financial modeling, covering modeling cash flows for decision making, LBO models, and modeling portfolio choices. It places an emphasis on constructing and using models in Excel and focuses on using sensitivity analysis.
As you develop in your MBA experience, you will build on your expertise through challenging course electives in the finance area. The Fast Track enables you to participate in all the aspects of the Ross general management preparation while offering the opportunity to develop specialized expertise for the finance industry.
A Comprehensive Experience
The Fast Track encompasses development opportunities beyond the classroom, and our integrated, customized co-curricular approach is what distinguishes the Ross finance preparation from other top schools. Opportunities include MAP projects involving complex financial analysis, guest lecturers related to cutting-edge trends and experiences in the finance industry, and new offerings in development for the 2013-2014 school year.
In the Fast Track, you will also have the opportunity to connect with a selective network of accomplished Ross alumni in the finance industry for individualized advice and guidance in developing your career.
Career Services
A number of the most selective employers in the finance industry recruit at Ross for first-year internships, and we are continuing to grow the number of recruiters in finance, including from private equity, venture capital, and hedge fund firms.
It will be incumbent upon you, as a student in the Fast Track, to work closely with Career Services and the Finance Club to ensure you are doing all you need to do to prepare for interviews and be successful in pursuing your desired internships and post-graduation job.
Admissions
Admission to the Fast Track in Finance is selective. To be eligible, students must place out of the core Financial Accounting course.
To enable students with very little or no accounting background to place out of the core Financial Accounting course, Ross offers an accounting preparatory course in August before regular classes start. Students who successfully complete this course and pass the waiver exam will place out of the core Financial Accounting course and be eligible to enroll in Advanced Financial Analysis and Valuation.
