Action-Based Learning

Action-based learning, a key element of the Ross experience, gives you the opportunity to go beyond cases, lectures, and internships. You'll learn by doing.

  • In our signature Multidisciplinary Action Project, you’ll work intensively with a sponsor company to solve a real-world problem.

  • Through the Zell Lurie Institute, you can manage a $3 million venture capital fund or participate in our innovative student-led Social Venture Fund.

  • In the Global Projects Course, you’ll spend a week abroad consulting with companies on market entry issues, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.

  • Through the Integrated Product Development course, you’ll partner with other U-M students to research, design, manufacture, and market a fully functional, customer-ready prototype of an actual product.

  • In the Ross Leadership Initiative's annual Crisis Challenge, you’ll play the part of a corporate leader coping with a devastating crisis.
