Admissions Criteria & Requirements

Eve MBA Admissions

Admission to the Ross School of Business Evening MBA Program is highly competitive. Ross is extremely proud of the diversity and quality of its students, and is committed to individually assessing the merits of each applicant. Applications are evaluated on managerial and leadership potential as reflected in each applicant’s record of professional accomplishments, academic achievement, and results of the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). In addition, personal essays and professional recommendations are used to evaluate a candidate. Ross seeks students who have demonstrated strong leadership in personal and professional pursuits and who exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Applicants typically have at least two years of work experience with most having four or more years. Please note that ALL materials need to be received by the posted deadline for the round in which you are applying. Interviews are by invitation only.

The Ross School of Business welcomes applications from graduates of accredited colleges and universities in all areas of study, including liberal arts, and engineering, as well as the social and physical sciences. No previous management courses are required, although applicants are expected to be proficient in communications skills, basic computer applications, and mathematics through the calculus level. Applicants who have not attended a U.S. educational institution or an institution where English is not the primary language of instruction also are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

Ross has no prerequisite courses for admission to the MBA program. However, due to the analytical rigor of the program, it is expected that students have a working knowledge of college-level mathematics. Students in need of a math refresher are encouraged to take a course prior to beginning the program.

Before Applying You Must

  • Complete the equivalent of a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree. Accordingly, we reserve the right to review the academic records of international applications and to determine whether the academic credentials presented from a non-U.S. institution qualify for consideration.
  • Take the GMAT. International students must also take the TOEFL if their first language is not English.  To have your TOEFL score automatically sent to Ross, use code 9585.
