Federal and/or Private Loans
Participants in the Ross EMBA Program may be eligible for federal and/or private loans. Private loans are available for both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens with proper visa status. Financial aid considerations usually begin only after a candidate has been admitted to the program.
Our admissions staff will assist you with processing student loan applications, which are the primary source of graduate program financial assistance. It is possible to borrow the entire cost of your education at reasonable interest rates. (Most loans are based on credit-worthiness rather than on need; as such, the majority of candidates are eligible for loans. Specific eligibility is determined by private lenders.)
Most students first consider Federal Direct Loans (subsidized or
unsubsidized) because of lower repayment costs, and then consider
the Federal Grad PLUS loan or a private loan. These loan sources can
be used to supplement the balance of cost of attendance not borrowed
through the Federal Direct Loan Program.
International Student Loans
Ross international students may borrow from
private lenders;
however, most of these will require a US citizen or permanent
resident co-signer. Private loans for international students that do
not require a co-signer are listed
here. Contact the Executive MBA
Program Office for further details.
U.S. Military Veterans
In 2009, the Ross School partnered with the Yellow Ribbon Program to benefit student veterans. To qualify, a prospective student must be 100 percent eligible for Chapter 33 status. Via the Yellow Ribbon Program, the University of Michigan and the Ross School will cover most unmet tuition needs.
Scholarship Options
A limited number of scholarships, ranging from full to partial tuition credit, are available to exceptional candidates from the nonprofit and public sectors. Scholarship decisions take into account both need and merit. Interested candidates will be required to submit a scholarship application form after receiving admission to the program.
