In 2007, The Ross School of Business launched The Michigan
Journal of Business, becoming the first business school in the United States to
run an academic journal promoting undergraduate scholarship. This pioneering
effort by the school provides undergraduate students worldwide with a platform
to disseminate exceptional work in the field of business. The inaugural edition
generated submissions from top business schools and economics departments in the
United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, spanning involvements from elite
institutions like Harvard, Wharton, and the London School of Economics. The
Journal is currently being distributed to over 150 University libraries in five
continents, and is cataloged at world-renown libraries, including the Baker
Library at the Harvard Business School, Main Library of Princeton University,
and the Kresge Library at the Ross School of Business. The Journal has also been
accepted into the Directories of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), a scholarly
journal database that enlists more than 3000 of the world’s leading
publications.
The Journal is currently
supervised by Professor Tammy Feldman, Lecturer in Business Economics at the
Ross School of Business and Managing Editor of the ABA's Antitrust Law Journal.
Professor Scott Moore, Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of Business Information
Technology and BBA Program Director, continues to advise the Journal and was the
faculty member who supervised the Journal during its development and initial
year of publication. The editorial board is entirely
student-run, formed through a competitive application process based on GPA,
leadership, and aptitude in writing. Faculties at the Ross School of Business
also provide minor oversight to the editorial board during the review process.
