BBA Dual Degree Opportunities

The Ross School of Business offers the option for BBA students to pursue dual degrees with the College of Literature, Science & the Arts (LS&A), the College of Engineering, or the School of Music, Theatre & Dance at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Student must be admitted to both schools/colleges.
·        
Student must complete requirements of both programs.
·         Student is granted concurrent degrees. The student must earn both degrees in the same
     degree period. If any degree requirement for either degree is lacking, neither degree will
     be awarded.
·         Student must submit a separate Diploma Application through Wolverine Access to each
     school along with any other necessary documents.

LS&A Dual

Candidates for Joint/Dual degrees with LS&A must:

1) complete one of the degree programs of LS&A (all degree requirements)-Advising to come from a concentration advisor in that department/discipline;
2) complete all BBA degree requirements (core; distribution; min 45 Bus Ad credits; etc.)-Advising to come from Dual Degree Advisor in Academic Services;
3) complete a minimum of 150 credits, of which no less than 100 credits must be LS&A courses and no less than 45 credits must be Business Administration courses;
4) have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0
5) complete the LS&A degree requirements.

Engineering Dual / Music, Theatre & Dance Dual

Candidates for Joint/Dual degrees with either of these schools must:

1) complete all BBA degree requirements (core; distribution; min 45 Bus Ad credits; etc.)-Advising to come from Dual Degree Advisor in Academic Services.
2) complete all degree requirements on the other side (Engin or M,T&D) - Advising to come from an advisor in that department/discipline;

How do I apply for a dual degree?

Again, one must be an admitted student in each school/program. 

Prospective duals must make an attempt to fill out the Excel planning template (below) before submitting application to Ross Academic Services.  This spreadsheet lays out each traditional term & lists the core Bus Ad courses. It also has a place for LSA/Engin/Music, Theatre & Dance courses for planning purposes.

(Remember, these templates are guides for planning purposes only.  They do not replace the degree audit.  Replace your specific degree requirements, distribution courses, etc. with the sample classes shown.)

Please note that the decision to pursue the dual degree is a heavy commitment, and it is likely to add additional semesters to your program.

Submit the following:
1.  Application (signed by the appropriate representatives in both schools)
2.  Planning Template

Application materials should be submitted to Allison Emery, BBA Dual Degree Advisor in Academic Services (located in E2540). 

Note for Fall 08 admits:  Dual Degree applications may be submitted after the first day of the Fall 2008 term.

Advising appointments for dual degree issues are available throughout the year.  From the Academic Counseling Appointments web site, select "BBA Dual Degree Advising/Issues" to schedule an appointment.

Admitted BBA's may contact the Dual Degree Advisor in the Office of Academic Services at rossacadservices@umich.edu.
