Academic Resources
As a Ross student you have access to a number of academic services. Below are
some Ross specific and central campus resources that are available to you as a
Ross student. Unless indicated otherwise, all resources listed are available to both
undergraduate and graduate level students.
Ross Academic Services:
Academic Services is here to help make sure you are on track to obtain
your degree at the Ross School of Business through course advising,
assisting with academic issues and concerns, conducting degree audit checks,
and answering general academic questions. Click

Ross Core Resources:
For the most up-to-date academic support resources for Ross core classes,
please consult your course syllabus and/or course instructor. Semester
specific information for BBA students will be updated below at the start of each term.
- All Ross students are encouraged to visit faculty office hours to
seek assistance, ask questions, and learn about resources and support
related to the course subject.

syllabus for information on additional assistance that may be
available.
- Sophomore BBA Core:
- ACC 272 - Private tutors are available; see class CTools site
for list of tutors
- ECON 102 - Private tutors are available; see the bulletin board next
to 102 Lorch Hall for a list of tutors
The Michigan
Economics Society provides organized study groups for students who
join the organization
- OMS 301 - Tutoring Monday-Friday, 6-8pm and Saturday-Sunday
Noon-4pm. Most sessions held in K1320; see class CTools site for
date specific locations.

Writing/Communication Resources:

Ross Communication Consulting: Ross communication consultants
will help you develop your written and oral communications for business
or class projects. Their goal is to help you become a better
communicator; they will help you recognize issues in your writing and
speaking and give you strategies for improvement. They are not
editors or proof readers and they will not "correct" your text.
The communication consultants are located in Kresge 1323.
- Sweetland Center for Writing: The Sweetland Center for Writing is a
central campus resource that provides one-on-one tutoring and writing
workshops all available at no charge to U of M students. The
Sweetland Center for Writing is located at 1310 North Quad.
- English Language Institute
(ELI): The ELI provides English language instruction to members
of the University of Michigan community. ELI offers credit bearing
courses and support services in English for academic purposes in order
to teach undergraduate and graduate students the language they need to
become fully participating members of the academic community. The
ELI is located in 304 West Hall.
General Resources:
- U of M Academic
Support Services: Use this website to browse University wide
academic support resources including tutoring, academic technology, and
mentorship.
- LS&A
Strategies for Success: This LS&A site offers academic resources
to help you manage your time, determine your learning style, prepare for
tests, stay motivated, and keep healthy and well.
- U of M
Mathematics Laboratory: The Mathematics Laboratory (Math Lab) is
a walk-in tutoring service available free to all UM students.
Specialized tutoring is available for undergraduate mathematics courses.
Although help is not specifically designed for other courses, Math Lab
tutors will attempt to answer questions and assist any UM student who
comes seeking mathematics help. The Math Lab is located in B860
East Hall.
