Because the Ph.D. Program is formally a component of the Horace H. Rackham Graduate School at the University of Michigan, students have full access to the resources, privileges and obligations of the University community. However, the program is structured and supervised by Ross School faculty and administrators.
Students may choose from eight areas of concentration. Choosing carefully is important. Fields overlap and interests may span several areas. If you are uncertain about which area best suits your career objectives, we urge you to speak with a member of the Doctoral Studies Office before you apply.
