Global MBA MAP in the News

DETROIT, Mich. - One of our Global MBA MAP teams made headlines when they were featured in the August 18th issue of Crain's Business Detroit, a local business newspaper. The team working with MPS Group, Inc., based in Detroit, was asked to analyze the challenges and opportunities associated with expanding their business. The team spent the majority of their time at the Detroit headquarters as they gathered data, interviewed key personnel and customers, and researched strategic options to make recommendations for an enhanced service menu and a broader customer base.

The article titled “Companies turn to MBA students for biz plans at the right price” highlighted the team's efforts and quoted MPS Group's CEO, Charlie Williams, giving kudos to the team. The article further expanded on the Ross initiative of action-based learning. At Ross, the concept of action-based learning is present throughout the curriculum. Students are challenged outside of the classroom, in the real world of business practice, where the collaborative process benefits all involved; students, faculty, and sponsoring organizations.

  Michigan Football

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - On Saturday, September 27, the Class of 2009 joined more than 109,000 other football fans at Michigan Stadium as Ross' East Asia Management Development Center hosted them to an afternoon of Michigan Football. We are happy to report a victory for the Wolverines in this season’s Big Ten opener against Wisconsin. While the entire experience was new for most of the Global MBAs, everyone enjoyed a traditional UM pre-game tailgate party before joining the crowd at the stadium.

Even though the first half of the game was plagued with turnovers, the Wolverine’s came back fighting in the second half. The defense kept the team’s hopes alive as the offense tried to get back on track. We are happy to report that the Wolverines succeeded in their efforts with non-stop action down to the last minute of the game as they pulled out a 27 to 25 win over Wisconsin.

Michigan Stadium, also known as the 'Big House', is the home of Michigan Football. As one of the country's most classic, widely recognized sport facilities, Michigan Stadium has come to symbolize the pride, tradition and excellence of the University of Michigan. The students and fans in attendance on September 27 were making history as they attended the 500th game the Wolverines played at the Big House. The picture at left shows Global MBA students Hiroto Ishikawa of Sony Corporation, Wen-Cheng Chang of Minland International Corporation, and Kisoo Lee of POSCO at the Big House.
