The
Global MBA Program begins at the Sumitomo Metal Training Center (SMTC) in
Kashima, which is conveniently located 30 minutes away from Narita International
Airport and only 80 minutes from downtown Tokyo by bus. SMTC is a well
managed corporate training facility ideally equipped to host the Global MBA
Program. At the training center, students are able to experience genuine
Japanese hospitality and precision during their stay. The facility is
rather small in size with less than 100 guest rooms creating an
environment in which students can focus on their course work and develop
personal relationships with colleagues without interruption.
Each student is assigned to their own room with service similar to that of a
business hotel. At night, after studying, students are able to relax in
the sauna located on the highest floor of the center while enjoying the night
view of Kashima City. When students have free time, they can visit downtown
Kashima, the Kashima Shrine, or the Pacific Ocean which are all within ten
minutes of the training center. Students can easily visit Tokyo by public
bus which stops every 20 minutes at the main gate of SMTC and
delivers riders to Tokyo Station in the heart of downtown Tokyo.

- Corporate
and Cultural
Tour
To increase students understanding of
local social and business cultures, the school offers
corporate and cultural
tours at the completion of course work in each city. Class of 2009
students will visit companies in the Tokyo area and cultural sites in Nikko from March 20
to 22. During
the tour, students will stay at a ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn,
for exposure to traditional Japanese culture.
After the four week session in Japan, students enjoy a one week break before reporting
for courses in Beijing, China.

"The facilities in Asia allowed me to immerse myself in the course
work while getting to know my classmates individually.
As a result of the time in Asia and the introduction to different
cultural experiences, I have personally grown. I cherish the
relationships I have developed with impressive professors and
esteemed colleagues."
