Challenges in business are rarely confined to one functional area.
Leaders must be armed with a holistic understanding of business to draw
upon fundamental knowledge to grasp the larger picture and 'connect the
dots'. Ross has designed the MBA curriculum knowing this. Our
broad based management approach ensures an integrated view of business and
the ability to implement those ideas to solve global business issues.
Communication
Course
(3 Credits)
The Global MBA Program begins with
an introduction to written and oral managerial communications, establishing the
ground work for success in the program. These communication courses stress
fundamental theories and strategies needed for effective communication in
diverse management situations.
Core Courses (20.25
Credits)
In Ross' highly competitive yet collaborative environment, the core
provides a rigorous educational experience that develops knowledge and
skills in every business function.
The MBA curriculum is designed to take full advantage of the dynamic research
environment found at the business school. Ross' core curriculum is intense
and designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of business.
The value of the core is extended as students apply it to action-based
projects, covering indispensable business knowledge. This gives MBAs the
freedom to think creatively, the confidence to take risks, and the ability to
trust the decisions that they make.
Elective Courses (Up to 36
credits)
Through two
elective terms, the Michigan MBA curriculum offers the freedom to
customize studies to develop the expertise desired. Those who enter the Global
MBA Program have solid work experience, proven leadership abilities, specific
career goals, and that special promise that signals they can make a difference. Organizations around the globe count on Ross graduates for their leadership
skills and breadth of knowledge.
MAP (7.5 credits)
The most distinguishing feature of the Ross Global MBA
curriculum is the Multidisciplinary Action Project known as MAP. MAP is a
hands-on opportunity for students to apply intellectual capital in real
business situations. During the final seven weeks of the program, students
travel to sponsoring companies to take on real business challenges.
While MAP teams benefit by expanding their understanding of business theory, sponsoring
companies gain new perspectives and
fresh ideas that are ready for implementation. The cross-functional student teams work closely with
our
faculty, as well as project host's executives, on team effectiveness and project
management. At the conclusion of MAP, teams present their findings and
recommendations for action to both their project hosts and faculty.

"The Ross School of
Business has changed my perspective of business. The major influence
is most certainly the faculty, each one hand picked
for the program. The collaborative nature of the students also makes
for intense, valuable discussions. Together with the comfortable
atmosphere of Ann Arbor, there is no reason to look
anyplace other than Ross. Ross prepares aspiring business
leaders with cutting-edge tools and knowledge required to thrive in today's
business world."
