ISIP: Information Systems Industry Partners

The BIT faculty at the MBS is pleased to announce the IS Industry Partners program.

The UMBS is striving to offer business undergraduates the best IS concentration available. We plan to achieve this through rigor, relevance, outstanding students and faculty, and our close relationships with industry employers. We have defined a new level of relationship for industry partners called the IS Industry Partners program. Partners will work directly with the MBS faculty to:

  • Review BIT curriculum and provide counsel to BIT faculty twice yearly at the MBS
  • Meet with students to discuss class experience and develop opportunities for internships and on-site assignments
  • Make in-class presentations on topics relevant to the class subject

Partners will benefit from their work in the program through:

  • Recruiting via the BIT web page listing at the MBS . This will show IS Industry partners and provide a direct connection to their company's recruiting page.
  • Special help with identifying and attracting the most promising IS candidates for internships and permanent jobs
  • Participation in a dinner held for each partner to meet prospective employers or interns and explain the opportunities at their firm
  • Support from BIT faculty to introduce company relevant teaching materials.
  • An opportunity to invite BIT faculty on-site for 1/2 day presentations on trends and developments in their area of expertise

Partnership fees are $10000 per year, which includes ISEF membership and all activities noted above. Fees are used to support various technical, educational, and developmental activities for faculty and students in the CIS program.

Current partners include the following:

Because of the personal nature of this relationship, membership in the IS Industry Partners program must be limited to ten firms. If the idea of developing your relationship with the MBS, with emphasis on BIT department, seems to meet your needs, please contact either of the following for more details:
