Core Course Waivers & Waiver Exam Information

Full-Time MBA

  • Waiver Information:  Be sure to read our full document about which core courses can be waived and the process for doing so.
    • Accounting Waiver Preparatory Course FAQs:  Read some common questions and answers regarding the pre-term Accounting Waiver Preparatory Course.  Taking this course and passing a waiver exam allows students to waive ACC 502.
  • Core Course Waiver Request Form: This is a 'read-only' Word Document. Please save the document to your computer, complete, print out and submit to our office with the required documentation.
  • Waiver Exam Schedule: Most waiver exams are offered once a year - in late August or early September. The exception is the Communication Waiver Exam, which is offered twice a year - in August and November - but may only be taken early in the program. Check specific program information for details (see Waiver Information link above).

Evening MBA

  • Waiver Exam Schedule: Most waiver exams are offered once a year - in late August or early September. Evening MBAs who begin the program in January should plan to take the exams in the fall after their admittance. The Communication Waiver Exam is offered twice a year - in August and November - but may only be taken early in the program. Check specific program information for details (see Waiver Information link above).

BBA

  • Waiver Exam Schedule: Waiver exams, if available, are generally offered before the beginning of the term in which the core course is offered. Check specific program information for details.

  • OMS 301 Waiver Exam: A waiver exam for OMS 301 will be offered on Friday, November 21, from 3:00-5:30 pm in room W2740. The exam will cover material on the next semester (Winter ’09) OMS 301 syllabus. Students wishing to take the exam should e-mail their section instructor (Professor Sahin - Sections 1,2,3, Prof Morgan - Section 4, Prof Cetinkaya - Section 5) by noon on Wednesday, November 19. Please note that Academic Services is currently in the process of loading students into their core courses, therefore you should be able to view your Winter schedule and determine what section you are in by the end of the week. Students are permitted to use a calculator with basic math functions and up to five letter sized "cheat sheets" (both sides of the sheets can be used); no other devices (e.g. laptops, ipods), lecture notes or textbooks are allowed. In addition to the handouts (exam, answer sheet, and tables), students will be able to have a pencil, eraser, cheat sheets and a calculator on the desk during the exam. Everything else must be placed on the floor.
